SOUND LOGO

A sound logo is a short composition. It’s a tool to  help you trigger brand recognition across touchpoints, and it should be an audible reflection of your brand. Often it’s made in conjunction with your music, and incorporated as part of it, yet it should work as an independent asset.

At 12 Keys we make UX sound design with a user-first approach. We help you determine where to place sound and when doing so, it should bring more value to the user experience, than the silence itself. Every sound will be designed based on your sound identity to ensure an expression in line with your brand.

At 12 Keys we are experts in sound design and foley for film. We believe sound is a powerful tool to help create an immersive experience for the audience. Not only should it convey what is seen on the screen, it should also tell a more expansive story of what’s not directly conveyed by the visuals, which truly helps bring the story to life.

Our approach is based on a healthy balance of insight, strategy and creativity. We work closely with our clients to achieve the necessary level of insight required to translate their brand into sound and music. 

Sound and music carries universal meaning, and it directly influences how your brand is perceived. We have 5 senses and together with our memories it’s what enables us to interpret our experiences. Yet only sight and hearing works in a digital landscape, and so sound and music are important branding tool in todays digital age.

Our name is inspired by the alchemical book “The Twelve Keys” written in 1599 by Basil Valentine, a salt manufacturer from Germany. In his book, he describes a process in twelve chapters, or keys, for creating The Philosophers Stone, which was believed to be a substance, that could grant immortality to the bearer.

Similarly to Basil Valentine we strive towards unlocking the secret to immortality, yet not for ourselves, but for the brands we work with, and we feel confident that the 12 keys are there to be found, within sound and music.
